Correction: Fire Alarm Testing – Access to the suite will be needed on Monday Sept 9 and not Saturday Sept 7th
Please be advised that the original post sent 2 days ago was incorrect. It should state that the mandatory BC Fire Code active in suite fire alarm testing will be done on Monday September 9th beginning around 8:00 am and testing should be completed by 11am for all three buildings. Only the silent alarm testing will be done on Saturday Sept 7th.
Additionally on Monday Sept 9th Hunter Fire Protection Services will also be conducting an inspection test of the domestic water backflow device, in compliance with BCWWA and the local purveyor. The water will be shut off briefly (up to ½ hour in each building) between 8:30 – 10am.
Fire Alarm Testing Saturday September 7 starting at 8 am
On Saturday September 7, Hunter Fire Protection Services is conducting an inspection and test of the fire alarm system life-safety system in this building. All of the testing will be silent, beginning around 8:00 am and testing should be completed by 11am. There should be minimal impact to owners/tenants.
Please be aware that there will be periods of time without fire detection. This should not be an indication to evacuate.
Hunter Fire Protection Services will need to gain access to each residence to test the fire and signal devices. This is a very important test and ensures your safety in the event of a fire. The inspection testing is a mandatory requirement by the fire commissioners office, for the BC Fire Code.
If you are not planning to be in your room on Saturday, please ensure the Strata has access to your suite. Michael Villaneuva the Peaks Property Manager/Caretaker will accompany Hunter Fire Protection Services personnel and provide access to your suite if no one is there.
It is important that you silence the in-suite buzzer when the signals begin.
We appreciate your cooperation to assist us to complete this important service.
Testing should be completed by 11am.
The Strata and Board would like to thank all owners/tenants for their cooperation during this time.
